Green Roof™ Installation Guide

1. SUBSTRATE

Green Roof should be laid on a root proof substrate, such as a bituminous sheet or protective membrane. Green Roof therefore only requires a 2-layer system structure.

2. PLACE THE PANELS

The outer edges of Green Roof are compatible with one another. This makes laying of the panels extremely quick and cost-effective.

3. FILL THE CELLS

The Green Roof elements can be filled with a blower device or by driving onto them with a bobcat and filling from above.

Growing medium using a combination of native soil and additives is recommended. Materials such as slate, crushed clay, humus, aggregate and fine chippings, pumice, lava, broken tiles and foamed glass may be used.

4. SEEDING

Depending on the need and type of planting, shoots, seedlings or seeds can be used. The laying of rolls of turf or sedum mats is also a good alternative.

5. IRRIGATION

Depending on the type of planting, an irrigation system may be sensible. Shoots should be sufficiently watered in the first few weeks.

6. PLANT CARE

From time to time, although at least once a year, the planted surface should be checked for weeds and these should be removed, if necessary.
